Happy teen driverSo your teen is ready to learn to drive. This is an exciting, yet scary time for you as a parent. Your child is growing into an adult and taking on new responsibilities, but it is important to be aware that teens are not mature adults, and extra caution is warranted before letting them get behind the wheel.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, young people aged 16 to 19 are more at risk for motor vehicle crashes than any other age group. Drivers in this age group are nearly three times more likely than drivers aged 20 and older to be in a fatal crash.

Luckily many of these risks can be mitigated with proper practice, professional training and setting safety rules. Choosing an intensive and thorough driving school that understands the unique needs of teen drivers will help set your mind at ease that your child is well prepared to take to the road.  At DriveTeam, we are committed to providing your teen with the most rigorous, yet still friendly and supportive, driver training available.

Some of the reasons you’ll love DriveTeam’s Teen Driving Education include:

A curriculum that goes well beyond the minimum requirements.

Here in Ohio, new drivers are required to complete 24 hours of classroom education and eight hours of behind-the-wheel training. Teens have the option of completing driving school at their high school, through a private driver training program or via online driver’s education courses.

At DriveTeam, we believe there is no substitute for hands-on, personal training and the more practice and personal attention your teen receives, the better driver they will ultimately be. Our Performance Based Driver Education (P.B.D.E) is a four-level, state-licensed program that was designed to far exceed Ohio’s minimum requirements for driver education. Ensuring superior driving proficiency and your teen’s safety is our number one concern.

Professional driving instructors.

Many driving schools use drivers that are not properly vetted and are simply looking to make a few extra bucks on an “easy gig.” At DriveTeam, we take driving instruction and choosing and training our teachers seriously. Our driving instructors are experienced and patient driving professionals who are committed to guiding your teen from novice to confident, assured driver.

Parental involvement.

There’s no doubt that the way teens learn to drive today is vastly different from when you completed your driver’s education courses. Today, parents take a far more active role in the training process, and we will assist you in that effort by communicating and keeping you updated on your teen’s progress throughout their course, allowing you to reinforce their training as you take them out for practice.

Years of experience.

Founded in 1990, DriveTeam has graduated over 50,000 students, with a strong focus on teen driving in particular. We stay up-to-date on all the latest vehicle technology and driving laws and our instructors know how to transform teens into safe, confident drivers.

Personalized attention.

We work with your teen based on their individual needs. Students advance through each level of our 46-hour program at their own pace. They are required to demonstrate proficiency at each level before progressing to the next.  We will spend extra time with them on specific skills and techniques where they might need some extra assistance. At DriveTeam we are committed to ensuring that your teen is fully ready to safely take the wheel when they get their license.

We are confident that the training your teen receives at DriveTeam will allow you to feel assured that they have received the best preparation possible when they take the keys to drive solo for the first time.
